Red Crescent Receives Russia, Armenia and Swiss Aids to Flood-Affected People

TEHRAN, 13 April 2019 (IRCS) – Russian-Armenian Humanitarian Response Center has sent a relief consignment to support the Iranian flood-affected people.

The consignment, which was sent by four trucks from Jolfa border, East Azerbaijan province, was delivered to the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) in the presence of the Russian ambassador to Iran. This relief aid contains folding beds, 4,000 blankets, 250 groundsheets and 40 tents.

Furthermore, Switzerland has sent 2 water distribution machines to use in the flood-affected regions.

The Iranian Red Crescent officially has launched the most urgent needs for the flood-stricken people.

So far, relief consignments of Germany, Turkey, Kuwait, Azerbaijan, Russia, Armenia and Swiss have been received by the Iranian Red Crescent. Furthermore, some international organisations and agencies have announced sympathy with the Iranian people and voiced their readiness to send essential items and equipment for flood-affected people.
