Nepal has appreciated Government of India for its support in the post-earthquake reconstruction projects in Nepal.

A meeting of India-Nepal Joint Project Monitoring Committee to review the progress of post-earthquake reconstruction projects in housing, education, health and cultural heritage sectors was held in Kathmandu on Monday.

Both sides agreed that through their combined efforts considerable progress has been made in the housing sector since signing of sector specific MoU.

Discussions were also held on Education, Health and Cultural Heritage sectors.

The two sides agreed to take steps to expedite progress in all sectors. India is providing US $ 250 million grant for supporting reconstruction in these sectors.

The meeting was chaired by Arjun Kumar Karki, Secretary, National Reconstruction Authority, Government of Nepal.

The Indian delegation was led by Sudhakar Dalela, Joint Secretary (North), Ministry of External Affairs. The next meeting would be held on a mutually convenient date.
