1. Caribbean Disaster Emergency
Response Agency (CDERA) reports that the National Emergency Management
Agency (NEMA) is carrying out assessment of damage caused by the earthquake
occurring on 22 April to private housing as well as public buildings.
NEMA is providing assistance to people affected and formulating plans for
repairing and retrofitting, and for incorporation of disaster resistant
measures for reconstruction.
2. No appeal for international assistance.
3. CDERA has alerted all States Participating in its activities about the importance of mitigation measures as a medium for loss reduction.
