  • On 25 February, a windstorm hit the island of Nishumdip in Noakhali District.

  • The storm caused significant damage on the island, with more than 70 houses severely damaged. Nishumdip is located near Bashan Char, the island where the Government of Bangladesh has proposed to relocate Rohingya refugees.

  • Fishing boats are reported missing, though no casualty are reported. One injured person was transferred to Dhaka for treatment.

  • Over 1000 tons of dry fish was damaged along with planted crops.

  • Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on 26 February informed that frequent thunderstorm and squally weather are likely to affect maritime ports and adjoining coastal areas, including Cox's Bazar.
