Pakistan
Nineteen districts in Sindh and 11 districts in Balochistan province are facing moderate to severe drought with below average rainfall from June to November. The lack of water puts agriculture and livestock at risk.
There is no data on the amount of people affected by drought. Over 600 children have died this year in drought-hit Thar, Sindh province due to contaminated water and malnutrition. Health and livelihood concerns are high.

South Sudan
High levels of food insecurity is forcing South Sudanese returnees in Kidepo Valley county, Torit state, to flee back across the border to Uganda and Kenya. Environmental shocks of early rainfalls followed by prolonged dry spells have negatively impacted crops.
Pockets of insecurity have inhibited access to markets and reduced supply from neighbouring countries, leading to an increase in food prices.

Yemen
At least 15.9 million people, 53% of Yemen’s population, are currently in IPC Phase 3 (Crisis) food insecurity or above, despite ongoing humanitarian assistance.
63,500 people are in IPC Phase 5 (Catastrophe), the highest level of food insecurity.
Areas with active fighting, such as Al Hudaydah, Hajjah and Taiz, are most affected.
Without the ongoing food assistance, nearly 240,000 people would be in IPC Phase 5.
