Epidemiological Summary

The total number of suspected cholera cases reported as at 7 th November 2018 stands at 5,845 with 73 associated deaths, (CFR – 1.26%). 2266 in Jere, 1,392 in MMC, 340 in Magumeri, 34 in Kaga, 163 in Konduga, 136 in Chibok, 11 in Shani, 42 in Damboa, 1051 in Ngala, 90 in Askira-Uba, 161 in Kwaya-Kusar, 56 in Bama, 57 in Dikwa and 46 in Guzamala LGAs. No additional case reported from Magumeri, Askia/Uba, Kaga, Chibok, Dikwa, Shani, Damboa, Kwaya-Kusar and Bama LGAs.

Out of the 191 samples collected and tested in the State using RDTs, 156 (81%) were positive while 38 (41%) of 91 samples were culture positive.

A total of 22 additional suspected cholera cases were reported from 5 LGAs (Jere, MMC, Konduga, Ngala and Guzamala) on the 7 th of November 2018 showing an increase by 1 case compared to the number of cases reported on the previous day (Fig 2a). 4 cases were reported from Jere (Fig 3), 12 from MMC (Fig 4), 2 case from Konduga, 3 from Ngala and 1 from Guzamala.
