  • The DEN-2 outbreak in New Caledonia has been declared over. – Source: Bulletin Épidémiologique and personal communication with country officials, Direction des Affaires Sanitaires et Sociales de Nouvelle-Calédonie, 5 November 2018. – The alert has been removed from the map.

  • Clusters of typhoid fever cases in specific villages in Fiji, within Sigatoka and Naitasiri subdivisions: as of October 30th, a total of 6 cases (5 confirmed and 1 suspected cases) were reported from Naveyago village within Sigatoka subdivision; and 18 confirmed and 14 suspected cases were reported from 3 villages (Nabaitavo village, Waisasavua village and Uluiravo settlement) within Naitasiri subdivision. ‒ Source: Typhoid Fever Situation Report volume 3, Fiji Centre for Communicable Disease Control, Fiji Ministry of Health and Medical Services, October 30th, 2018

  • Polio in Papua New Guinea: Three cases of circulating vaccine-derived poliovirus type 1 (cVDPV1) were reported the week ending on 30 October, from Jiwaka province, Gulf province and Southern Highlands province, with dates of onset of paralysis on 20 August, 29 August and 8 September , respectively.
