While the emergency response to earthquake and tsunami that struck Central Sulawesi, such as Kota Palu, Donggala, Sigi and Parigi Moutong, is being carried out, the emergency response in Nusa Tenggara Barat is still ongoing.

Thousands of Lombok and Sumbawa earthquake survivors still need a lot of assistance. The recovery process is still continuing.

The following is the progress of Lombok Sumbawa earthquake handling per 1/10/2018 at 07.00 WIB.

Report on the provision of assistance in Regencies of North Lombok, East Lombok, West Lombok, Mataram City, Sumbawa and West Sumbawa as of 1/10/2018 2018 due to the 6.4 SR Earthquake (July 24 2018), 7.0 SR (August 5 2018), 6.2 SR (August 9 2018) and 6.9 SR (August 19 2018) as follows:

A. Fatalities

(Based on data received by Command Post PDB Province)

  1. Fatalities: 564 people, with following breakdown:

a. North Lombok: 467 people

b. West Lombok: 44 people

c. East Lombok: 1 people

d. Central Lombok: 2 people

e. Mataram: 9 people

f. Sumbawa: 6 people

g. West Sumbawa: 5 People

  1. Injured: 1.584 people, with following breakdown:

a. North Lombok : 829 people

b. West Lombok: 399 people

c. East Lombok: 122 people

d. Central Lombok: 3 people

e. Mataram:63 people

f. Sumbawa : 53 people

g. West Sumbawa : 115 People

B. IMPACT

  1. Displaced 445.343 with following breakdown:

a. North Lombok: 101.735 people

b. West Lombok: 116.453 people

c. East Lombok: 104.060 people

d. Central Lombok: 13.887 people

e. Mataram: 18.894 people

f. Sumbawa: 49.188 people

g. West Sumbawa: 41.126 People

  1. Damaged houses 149.715 units
  • Total ready to be rebuilt 22.073 units

  • Total houses that have been demolished 4.679 units

  • Total verified houses 124.423 units

  • Total of 95.882 housing units have been issued with SK (Letter of Instruction)

  • Total 17.464 saving account books have been issued to help with the distribution of funding to rebuild the damaged houses

  • Total saving accounts with balance is 2.623 units

  • Total Community Group (POKMAS) formed 54 teams

  • RISHA (safe, healthy and instant houses) 348 KK

  • Non RISHA House 60 KK

C. Activity of the BNPB

  1. Lombok Utara

a. BNPB participated in the verification of damaged houses. Progress;

  • Instruction Letter for the Phase 18 has been signed by the Regent (4.465 unit);

  • BNPB will continue to assist in the implementation dst;

  • Instruction Letter for Phase 19 is still being drafted by the verification team;

b. Managing operational fund for phase II in the value of IDR. 500 milion and phase III in the value of IDR600 million;

c. Collecting data of the displaced population by name by address.

  1. Lombok Barat

a. continue to assist the command post in the reconstruction and administration of the operational fund during the transition phase;

b. Plans for tomorrow:

  • Initiation of reconstruction project at Desa Batu Kantar sub-district. Narmada.
  1. Lombok Timur

a. Setting up a command post at the regency office building complex ;

b. with the BPBD, continue coordination with the Public Works Agency, Perkirm and REKOMPAK, on technical and administrative matters for the administration of stimulus fund to help the rebuilding of the damaged houses;

c. Plans for tommorrow:

  • Coordination meeting at the command post for the acceleration of emergency response operations during transition;

  • with the BPBD, continue coordination with the Public Works Agency, Perkirm and REKOMPAK, on technical and administrative matters for the administration of stimulus fund to help the rebuilding of the damaged houses;

  • Coordinating with the BRI for consolidation of data of the bank account numbers.

  1. Mataram

a. Input data of displaced population of each district in Mataram;

b. Meeting on the reconstruction of damaged houses with the Assistant 1 and its staff members;

c. Logistics distributions to the sub-districts;

d. Validating requests for homes reconstruction

  1. Lombok Tengah

a. BNPB will compile updated data on the verification of damaged houses, balanced account books, socialization of the POKMAS, interest to RISHA, and SK POKMAS, that will be fed into the template for the monitoring of the emergency assistance to Lombok Tengah;

b. The BNPB with the BPKP will visit the PERKIM to discuss the progress of the verification of damaged houses and the setting up of the technical team and community assistance team;

c. The BNPB in coordination with BRI, BPBD Lombok Tengah, dan Rekompak Lombok Tengah, will discuss the discrepancy of data in the number of saving accounts with ready funds. At the moment saving accounts with ready fund number at 799 accounts. .

  1. Sumbawa

a. Data collection and validation of damaged houses are ongoing=;

b. Erected tents/tarps at 289 units;

c. Demolition of severely damaged houses and debris clearing is ongoing;

d. BPBD Sumbawa is drafting the report on the utilization of operational funds in coordination with the related SKPD;

e. BPBD Sumbawa is conducting verification of the names listed under the SK first phase and collecting the residence ID numbers of the affected population;

f. BPBD Sumbawa distribute relief items to the district of Alas.

  1. Sumbawa Barat

a. BNPB assisted the issuance of the saving account books ;

b. BNPB assisted the administration of the establishment of the Community Groups (Pokmas);

c. BNPB attended the socialization of earthquake-proof houses in Poto Tano village;

d. BNPB supported the administration of the operational funds;

e. Sosialisasi Juknis pelaksanaan bantuan stimulan perbaikan/ pembangunan rumah korban bencana gempa bumi sbb;

  • PokmasPlus ready to play the role for the successful reconstruction/repair of the damaged houses;

  • tax exemption, in line with Law No. 36 of 2008, Article 4, verse 3, stipulates that recipients of the stimulus fund assistance for house reconstruction are not tax subjects. However, the material purchase will still be taxed;

  • There should be no political interest for the house reconstruction.

D.Urgent needs

  • food assistance (MSS);

  • clean water, toilet, and sanitation;

  • health service and trauma healing;

  • temporary shelter in the form of tarps/tents (for people who evacuate communally or self-evacuate in front of their own homes));

-Blankets;

  • Security for officers and residence;

  • Needs for babies and toddlers;

  • tents for public and social facilities;

  • mats;

  • mosquito nets.

E. Recommendation

a. Accelerate the SOP to rebuild the damaged houses;

b. Support to reinforce the temporary accommodation;

c. Call on the public to return to their homes;

d. Accelarate the verification process by the local government.
