SITE UPDATES

National CCCM Cluster

The national CCCM cluster worked with partners to finalize SSHF concept notes. The cluster was awarded $1.1m which will be allocated toward sustaining current responses in collective sites; launching of mobile CCCM; and enhancing communicating with communities for the next 6-9 months.

Bor PoC

Camp management in collaboration with child protection partners supporting integrated messaging to the IDP population in the PoC by including messages on World breast feeding week which was celebrated on 6 August 2018.

Wau

PoCs:

CCCM Hosted the new CCCM National cluster coordinator. Key issues such as congestion were discussed as well as key lessons learnt shared on the Wau PoC rehabilitation.

Collective Sites:

Following the recent displacement in Hai Masna, CCCM conducted population head count for the new arrivals where 393 Households and 1,547 individuals were accounted for.

Aburoc

During this reporting week, camp management received 55 returnee households totaling 278 Individuals. Returnees were referred to DRC shelter focal point for the provision of with plastic sheets for shelter and other Non-food items.

Melut

Responding to the need to improve the Community Center, camp management in Melut, furnished the center with 90 chairs and 9 tables made of plastic.

Malakal PoC

  • To improve access and enhance safety in the POC, DRC in collaboration with the site shelter team constructed 13 new footbridges and repaired 23 footbridges that had broken down due to bad weather conditions.

  • In line with CCCM Strategy, Camp management conducted CCCM training for staff allowing for enhanced quality of information management systems including CFM.

UN House PoC

Following the spill-over of tensions in the sites, approximately 1200 individuals sought refuge in the Weapon Free Zone on the 12th of August. Both PoCs were shut for general access bar life-saving response.
