Kuwait, July 29 (BNA): At the directives of the Amir HH Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah, Kuwait has delivered assorted humanitarian supplies to needy people in Chad, Gaza, Iraq, Tanzania, Turkey and Yemen.
Minister of Electricity and Water and Minister of Oil Bakheet Al-Rashidi briefed the cabinet that the ministry donated power generators with a total production capacity of 30,000 kilowatts and would be supplying Iraq with oil derivatives. Minister of Commerce and Industry Khaled Al-Roudhan on his part said the ministry dispatched fresh water tankers to meet the needs of the Iraqi people, according to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
In Gaza, a free medical day was launched wherein free medicines and baby milk were distributed, this project directed by the Arab Fund for Social and Economic Development.
In Yemen, head of the relief sector in the Kuwait relief Society Mahmoud Al-Misbah said that the Kuwaiti aid to Yemen falls within the framework of (Kuwait Besides You) campaign aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people in Socotra island.
In Turkey, Al-Najat Charity carried out a training programme for those working in the humanitarian field in Gaziantep City south west of Turkey.
In Chad, Kuwait Relief Society, along with the Faculty of Medicine Students at Kuwait University (KU) and Al-Najat Charity organised a $ 70,000-humanitarian programme.
In Tanzania, Kuwait embassy in Tanzania delivered seven tonnes of primary food aid for thousands of beneficiaries and those affected by floods in presence of Minister of Energy and Minerals Angellah Kairuki and Kuwait’s ambassador to Tanzania Jasem Al-Najim, KUNA reported.
