Highlights

Cumulative figures

-The cumulative total from 27 April 2017 to 1 July 2018 is 1,115,378 suspected cholera cases and 2,310 associated deaths, (CFR 0.21%), 1157 have been confirmed by culture.

  • The total proportion of severe cases among the suspected cases is 15.7%
  • The national attack rate is 397.4 per 10,000. The five governorates with the highest cumulative attack rates per 10,000 remain Amran (936), Al Mahwit (905), Al Dhale’e (641), Sana’a (550), Dhamar (540),
  • Children under 5 years old represent 28.8% of total suspected cases.
  • In total, 67,862 rapid diagnostic tests (RDT).
  • 4,459 cultures have been performed which represents 26.2% coverage.
  • The last positive culture was on 29 June 2018 in Assafi'yah & Az'zal districts in Amanat Al Asimah.
  • Since 1st of Jan 2018 the districts with highest cumulative suspected cases are Al Hali (5841), Radman Al Awad (2,215), Al Mighlaf (2,150), Al Sabaeen (2102), Maqbanah (2,075).
  • 162 districts are still reporting suspected cholera cases since last 3 weeks
  • 143 districts (out of 305 affected districts) did not report any suspected cases for the last three consecutive weeks
