  • Severe weather, including heavy rain, strong wind and thunderstorms, has been affecting the Cox's Bazar District (Chittagong Division, south-eastern Bangladesh) over the past week, causing landslides and casualties.

  • According to media, as of 7 May at 7:30 UTC, one person was reported dead and two people injured due to a landslide in the Kutupalong Rohingya refugee camp (Cox's Bazar District).

  • Over the next 24 hours, locally heavy rain, strong wind and thunderstorms are forecast in the Chittagong Division, in addition to the already affected area. The rains typically begin in April and peak in July, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
