LAC-INFORM is a tool to understand, measure and analyse risk among countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. It can also be used to track and monitor risk over time.
The 2018 LAC-INFORM main fndings:
In general, there are no signicant changes in risk conditions for countries of the region between 2017 and 2018. The same ten countries appear in the high and very high risk categories.
The countries with a very high level of risk of disasters and humanitarian crises are Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras. Those in the high risk level are: Bolivia, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, Venezuela (in alphabetical order).
In the case of the Caribbean, it should be noted that the level of reliability of the INFORM index remains low for most countries (lower in 2018* than in 2017). The main cause is the lack of information for indicators in all three dimensions of analysis.
