21,000 health, medical and rehabilitation services to the earthquake victims in Kermanshah

The Iranian Red Crescent Society has provided nearly 21,000 health, medical and rehabilitation services to the earthquake victims in the province of Kermanshah.

These services, estimated at about 20,997 cases, include patient visits, medical emergencies, pregnancy services to pregnant women, physiotherapy and technical orthopedics.

The Iranian Red Crescent Society has been providing emergency services to earthquake victims since November 16.

Dr. Hassan Saffariyeh, Under Secretary General for Health, Treatment and Rehabilitation in the Iranian Red Crescent Society, said:"1.210 medical emergency services, 1.620 medical visits, 6,505 nursing care services, 1.064 maternity services, 320 mental health services, 318 environmental health services and 611 referrals have been provided by the Iranian Red Crescent so far for victims of the earthquake in Kermanshah "

The rehabilitation teams of the Iranian Red Crescent Society are also active in the Kermanshah earthquake affected areas since November 25th, and have provided 242 physiotherapy services and 92 technical orthopedic services to earthquake victims.

An earthquake of 7.3 magnitude on Richter scale at 21:48 pm on Sunday, November 12, rocked Kermanshah province, killing at least 569 people and injured more than 9,000. This earthquake also damaged and destroyed 50% to 100% of residential units. In total, more than 427,000 people in 8 districts of Kermanshah province were affected by the earthquake.
