UAE sends more relief aid to Palestinian refugees in Lebanon

A yet fifth convoy of trucks carrying relief materials and emergency supplies from the UAE to Palestinian refugees has arrived Saturday in the Palestinian refugee camp of Badawi as well as in Tebnin, Al Minyeh, Bahneen villages in northern Lebanon, announced the UAE Project for Supporting and Reconstruction.

The 12-truck relief convoy carried potable water, wheat flour, infant formula, milk as well as emergency medical supplies and medicines to Palestinian refugees who have been displaced from Nahr Al Bared refugee camp in Northern Lebanon due to the security situation, it added.

"Relief aid materials have been handed over to Palestinian aid committees in the Badawi Refugee Camp and Tebnin, Al Minyeh, Bahneen villages", stated Director of Media Affairs at UAE Project for Supporting and Reconstruction Abdullah Al Ghafli. "The move was made in line with the directives of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan", he said.

Emergency aid is being extended by the UAE Project for Supporting and Reconstruction of Lebanon to thousands of Palestinian refugees who fled their homes at Nahr Al Bared camp refugee camp in Lebanon which has been the scene of fierce fighting.

Al Ghafli said the UAE has been the only Arab country to have been able to deliver relief supplies to thousands of internally displaced Palestinians during the first month of their exodus from Nahr El Bared refugee camp due to the worsening security situation.
