HIGHLIGHTS

  • A total of 54 new cases of AWD were reported in week 41 compared to 47 cases in week 40 in South Central and Puntland zones

  • The new AWD cases were reported from 11 districts in two regions, of which 69% were reported from Banadir region

  • No new death was reported in the two zones

  • A cumulative total of 60,678 cases and 820 deaths have been reported in 52 districts of 16 regions of South central and Puntland since January 2017

  • The number of AWD/Cholera cases and deaths in inaccessible areas are 4 times the number of cases and deaths in areas that are accessible

  • Of the 10 stool samples tested for AWD in Banadir region beginning of October 2017, 1 was positive for Vibrio Cholerae

  • OCV campaign conducted in Daynile and Wadajir districts in Banadir region
