CAR
Humanitarian assistance is interrupted for at least 28,000 people in Bataganfo, Ouham, following the suspension of the activities of an NGO that was attacked on 7 September. Only MSF is now providing emergency care in the area.
Humanitarian space has severely shrunk in Batangafo since clashes between ex-seleka and anti-balaka resumed at the end of July, and several humanitarian organisations have suspended their operations.
Bangladesh
The number of newly arrived Rohingya refugees has tripled within a week, reaching 313,000.
Humanitarian response is struggling to keep up with the acute, cross-sectoral needs that have come with this influx as the refugees arrive in already overcrowded camps and makeshift settlements. New informal settlements have emerged. The government of Bangladesh is unwilling to commit to hosting refugees long-term.
Palestine
Water shortages resulting from the electricity crisis in Gaza are affecting agricultural irrigation systems and farmers' livelihoods. Water prices increased by 40-50% since April and up to 60% of demand for water for agriculture is not met as of August.
South-eastern communities of the Strip are most affected as they completely rely on water supplies from the rest of the Strip. Khan Yunis governorate is likely to be most affected with 60% expected losses, and North Gaza and Gaza governorates 40%.
