  • New official figures released by the Commission for Population Movement (CMP in its French acronym) set at 600 000 the number of internally displaced people, i.e. an increase of 11% compared to June 2017.

  • This increase is related to outbreaks of violence in different parts of the country over the past few months. In a recent incident on 3 August, six Red Cross volunteers were killed during the attack on a health facility in Gambo (Mbomou prefecture).
