Overview of Flood, July 2017

Rise of water levels in the various rivers in the northern and northeast part of the country due to heavy rainfalls as well as water flow from the upstream Meghalaya hills in India have led to the inundation of low-lying areas. After the devastating flood on middle of April, second time flood started on 27 June affecting two northeast districts Sylhet and Moulvibazar. Flood started from July 02 affecting eight districts Rangpur, Kurigram, Sirajganj, Jamalpur, Bogra, Lalmonirhat, Gaibandha, Nilphamari and Tangail. Rising water overflow and breeched embankment in many places. It destroyed people’s normal live.
