Philippines: Leyte Earthquake Event on 6 July 2017

At 4:03 PM on 6 July 2017, a magnitude 6.5 earthquake with 2 km depth of focus struck central Leyte between Jaro and Ormoc City (11.11°N, 124.69°E). Intensity VII was felt and recorded in Ormoc City and Kananga, Leyte while Intensity VI was recorded in Jaro and Capoocan, Leyte. Intensity V in Palo and Tacloban City in Leyte and Cebu and Mandaue Cities in Cebu province.
There are already casualties and injured people. Damage to buildings and infrastructures have been assesed and three provinces are still experiencing power outages and interruptions.
