DONATE THROUGH THE CENTRAL EMERGENCY RESPONSE FUND (CERF)

The CERF provides initial rapid funding for life-saving actions in case of emergency and essential underfunded humanitarian operations under conditions of protracted crisis.
The CERF, which is under the supervision of OCHA, receives contributions from various donors - mainly governments, but also from private companies, foundations, charities and individuals – pooled into a single fund. It is used to contribute to crisis management worldwide. In 2015 and 2017 (31 May), the CERF contributed $ 26.5 million to the humanitarian crisis in CAR under the rapid response mechanism (17.5 million) and the underfunded emergencies mechanism (9 million).

DONATE THROUGH THE COUNTRY HUMANITARIAN FUND (HF CAR)

The Humanitarian Fund (HF) in CAR is a Country Based Pool Fund based in the country (CBPF). CBPFs are multidonor humanitarian financing instruments established by Emergency Relief Coordinator (ERC) and placed under the leadership of the Humanitarian Coordinator (HC). It is managed by OCHA and its activities are closely aligned with those of the Clusters defined in the HRP. It has two objectives: support the response to most urgent and critical humanitarian needs and strengthen the leadership of the HC and humanitarian coordination mechanisms. In 2016, the HF has allocated a total of 24.1 million dollars in support of the humanitarian response while in 2017 (31 May) it has allocated 13 million. These allocations are organised in complementarity with the CERF allocations allowing to maximize the impact of these funding streams. The HF allocates funding to UN agencies, international and national NGOs. These organisations as well as donors participate to the governance of the HF CAR.
