CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, May 5 -- As a pro-active measure against flooding, the 18th City Council headed by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy during its regular session approved on first reading a resolution adopting the Flood Contingency Plan of Cagayan de Oro City.

The plan consists of three chapters. The first chapter presents the general situation of the city following the Typhoon Sendong flooding in 2011.

The objectives of the plan based on the priorities of life-saving, situation stabilization, and property and environment conservation as well as general policies that govern the planning process, objectives establishment and plan implementation are enumerated in the second chapter.

Meanwhile, the third chapter of the plan presents a brief description of the clusters on Coordination; Logistics; Camp Coordination and Camp Management; Food and Non-Food items, Nutrition; Water, Sanitation and Hygiene; Mental Health and Psycho-Social Services; Protection; Management of the Dead and Missing; Early Recovery and Rehabilitation; Shelter; Livelihood and Education.

The plan also includes procedures for feedback and upgrading, and will serve as the standard reference document for all the clusters. (SP)
