Sremska Mitrovica, 17 March 2017 – First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dacic said that today began construction of 40 apartments for refugees in Sremska Mitrovica, under the second sub-project of the regional housing project of the Republic of Serbia.

The second sub-project envisages the purchase of 250 village houses, construction of 200 apartments, construction of 120 prefabricated houses and allocation of 330 packages of construction material – a total of 900 housing solutions, the First Deputy Prime Minister said.

This sub-project is worth over €13 million, he said noting that we must not forget that the construction of apartments has already begun within the framework of the third sub-project in the village Ovca.

He expressed satisfaction that the implementation of the sub-projects will start immediately, and announced that, simultaneously with the construction of apartments in Sremska Mitrovica, the construction of flats starts in Krusevac and Paracin, and that construction of buildings with 20 apartments in Vrsac and Prokuplje will start by the end of May, and then in Bajina Basta, Sid, Sabac and Kikinda.
