Ethiopia: Activities and Resource Gap for Closed Schools in Drought Affected Areas of Oromia and Somali Regions (as of 07 Jan 2017)
Since November 2016, 578 schools have closed and the education of 228,000 children is disrupted in drought-affected areas, mainly due to non-availability of food and water in schools. Parents and children are moving to places where food and water are available.
At the moment, there are 163,000 internally displaced school-aged children in drought affected areas.
