Map Information

Since the 9th of May 2016 flooding and mudflows triggered by heavy rains have affected many Sughd Province districts in north-western Tajikistan, with damage to households, roads, bridges, local agriculture and livelihoods being reported. Furthermore, during the 16-18 of May period the latest rainfall episode has reportedly made the situation worse. This activation concerns several lateral valleys along the Zerafshan river in the Panjakent District.

The present map shows the mudflow delineation in the area of Artuch (TAJIKISTAN). The thematic layer has been derived from post-event satellite image using by means of visual interpretation. The estimated geometric accuracy is 15.3 m CE90 or better, from native positional accuracy of the background satellite image.
