Highlights

  • PARAGUAY: The number of affected people by floods from the Paraguay river in Asuncion reached 65,000 people, who left their homes due to heavy rains.

  • BOLIVIA: 50 municipalities are in a state of emergency due to the drought (27) and heavy rains (23). The Government allocated $US 21.5 million to prevent and cope with disasters caused by El Niño.

  • CUBAN MIGRANTS: At least 7,230 Cuban Migrants remain in Costa Rica. The National Commission for Emergencies (CNE) reports that 3,981 of these migrants are located in 31 shelters.
