CASABLANCA, Apr.16 - Some two hundred families, affected by flash floods that hit Mohammedia city (60 km south Rabat) last November, will be granted new flats as of next summer, announced the company in charge of building the lodgings.

The national equipment and construction company (SNEC) said in a release that 20 per cent of these housing units has been achieved, adding that the works, which were kicked off last February are due to be completed in six months.

The flood-stricken families will be granted three-room apartments, adds the same source.

Flash floods combined with a river spate caused serious material damage in Mohammedia last November, claiming by the same more than sixty fatalities, and crippling, for some time, the city's industrial activity.
