Highlights

  • FLOODS AND RAINS: The rains registered in Venezuela in the last weeks have affected more than 45,000 people.
    Authorities, together with humanitarian organizations, are responding to the emergency. In Costa Rica, the number of people in shelters has halved.

  • ENVIRONMENTAL EMERGENCY: About 6,000 people are directly affected by the pesticide contamination of the La Pasion River in Guatemala.

  • DROUGHT: Central America and the Caribbean are affected by drought. It is estimated that 1 million people are affected in Haiti, and in Honduras about 800,000 people are affected.
