On 30 July 2011, floods and mudslides have affected the Ghanche District in Gilgit-Balistan, causing damage to hundreds of houses and to crop areas (Government and Red Crescent, 11 Aug 2011).
Heavy monsoon rains over the course of August 2011 have caused widespread damage, primarily in the southern province of Sindh, affecting close to 5 million people (OCHA, 9 Sep 2011). Pakistan floods rapid response plan, launched on 18 Sep, has received $9M out of $357M required (OCHA, 23 Sep 2011).
