On 3 June 2010, heavy rainfall caused serious mudslides in southern Kyrgyzstan, affecting 8,350 people (1,670 households) in the Jalalabat and Osh regions. Houses, roads, cultivated lands and dams were destroyed or damaged. The most seriously affected villages were Akman and Suzak, with 1,205 families whose houses were damaged or destroyed.

IFRC allocated funds on 9 June to deliver assistance to some 2,835 beneficiaries. (IFRC, 09 Jun 2010) The operation was implemented over four months and completed 7 October. (IFRC, 07 Feb 2011)
