Continual heavy rains from 14–25 May led to flash floods that damaged large areas of agricultural lands and infrastructure. As of 27 May, Lampang, Uttaradit, Phetchabun and Loei were the provinces most affected by flash floods. Residents of more than 5,000 households were affected. (Govt. of Thailand, 27 May 2009)

Forest water flooded the Si Satchanalai district of the central province of Sukhothai after constant heavy rainfall on 18 June. The flooding affected residents in more than 5,000 households in the area. (Govt. of Thailand, 19 Jun 2009)

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation stated that the continuous heavy rains in southwestern, northeastern, and upper northern regions during 11–13 July had caused catastrophic flash floods in the provinces of Phang Nga, Ranong, Satun, Trang, Nan, and Surat Thani.
