An earthquake in Rasht measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale hit 19 villages of two jamoats in Rasht District, Directly Ruled Districts, at 03:44 am local time on 22nd of July. The earthquake killed three boys from one family and damaged 1,216 houses, which affected more than 12,000 people. The official estimation of the damage caused by the earthquake was 11.5 million Somoni (3.3 million USD). On the same day, at 14:00 (local time) a mudflow ripped through a resort area killing 12 people in Asht district of northern Sughd province affecting Olma and Chimor villages of Oshoba Jamoat.
