More than 85,800 people are sheltering in 460 evacuation centres. (OCHA, 6 Oct 2009) Typhoon Parma had a devastating impact on the agriculture sector in Isabela Province, which raised food security concerns, as it was the main producer of corn and second producer of rice in the country, according to the Department of Agriculture.
