Typhoon Jangmi weakened to a tropical storm on 29 September. The storm caused floods and mudslides in Taiwan, killing two people [...] While strong rains continued in Taiwan, Jangmi's outer reaches were to hit China's coastal provinces Fujian and Zhejiang. The regions, prepared for the year's 15th typhoon, had ordered the evacuation of 460,000 people from low-lying areas. (DPA, 29 Sep 2008)
