A strong low pressure revitalized a seasonal rain front and led to heavy rains of up to 309 mms in Inchon and Kyonggi area, which started on 14 July 2001 at 23:00. 52 people were killed and 10 reported missing due to floods triggered by the heavy rains. 59,000 houses were inundated. The floods also damaged other private properties, which included agricultural products, farmland (127.7 hectares) and livestock (42,000 heads) as well as public properties (roads, bridges, dams and irrigation system) worth KRW96.8 billion (USD 76 million).
