A bacteria, Wolbachia, is to be injected into the bodies of the Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, the main carriers of the dengue virus, on 17 February in the Dematagoda and Nugegoda areas. While the bacteria is inside the body of a vector, it competes with the dengue virus for food and energy.
