The Indonesian govt national coordination board for natural disaster relief (Bakornas PBA) has advised the UNDRO/UNDP resident representative Jakarta of serious seasonal flooding and landslides in the provinces of central, east, and west Java, Jogyakarta special region, and north Sumatra. Twenty-six persons were reported dead, over 300,000 persons were affected, over 60,000 homes were damaged or destroyed, and approximately 31,000 hectares of rice fields were lost. (UN DHA, 1 Mar 1984)
