Chile: Wild Fire - Apr 2014
A massive wildfire started on 12 Apr 2014 and burned through Chile’s Valparaiso city. Over 800 houses were destroyed and more than 12,000 people were evacuated from their homes. Twelve people were killed according to the reports of the mayor of Valparaiso city. The city experienced massive power outages due to damage to the infrastructure. (IFRC, 15 Apr 2014)
