On 24 Mar 2013, strong wind and storms affected the eastern and western parts of Georgia. 350 houses were damaged and the roofs of about 20 schools were broken or ripped off. Tens of thousands of households were left without electricity in various parts of the country. (IFRC, 29 Mar 2013)
