More than 171,000 people hit by floods since July

HIGHLIGHTS

• Over 171,000 people across 12 states in Sudan have been affected by heavy rains and floods that started in late July 2014, according to HAC.

• In El Fasher town, North Darfur, heavy rains destroyed 324 homes and damaged another 2,570, according to IOM.

• Fighting over resources left 64 people dead in Umm Rakoba, East Darfur.

• As of 13 August, some 93,500 South Sudanese refugees had arrived in Sudan, according to UNHCR
