KEY EVENTS

  • The national Flood Task Force issued a flood alert today, 18 August to urge Government and humanitarian actors to implement flood prevention and preparedness measures in high-risk communities.

  • WFP will face critical funding shortfalls for its refugee operation from September onwards. US$42 million is urgently needed to cover needs until January 2015.

  • Relocation of new arrivals to Nip Nip camp started on 14 August. Flood-affected refugees are prioritized for relocation to the new camp.
