Myawady, 29 April — A 24-year old man was severely injured when he stepped on a landmine in Kayin State recently, officials said Tuesday. The incident occurred during work when the man, identified as Aung Myin Htay of Dawna Ward in Myawady Township, was pick- ing djenkol beans along Myawady-Kawkareik Road near Thingan-nyinaung Village. Police said the man was rushed to Myawady District General Hospital for medical treatment.
