NAIROBI [ACTED News] - In recent weeks, Gedo region in South Somalia has faced a severe water crisis. 80% of the water sources are reported to be dry and as a result communities have been forced to migrate towards a more permanent source of water, often across the border in Kenya.

To respond to the crisis, ACTED teams with the support of UNICEF, have begun truck deliveries for 4,777 of the most vulnerable households in the El Waq district of Gedo, providing each household with a total 36 litres of water per day for 15 days.
