58 per cent of Yemen’s population will need assistance in 2014

Fifty eight per cent of Yemen’s population (14.7 million out of 25.2 million people) are affected by the humanitarian crisis and will need assistance next year, the crisis is compounded by a lack of basic services, weak state authority and poor resource management. 13 million people lack access to improved water sources, while 8.6 million lack access to basic health care.
There are also more than 500,000 IDPs, returnees and other marginalized people, and 242,944 refugees, mostly Somalis.
