Highlights

  • SPLM-N announces a one month ceasefire in South Kordofan and Blue Nile states for flood response.

  • In East Darfur, an estimated 144,000 people have been displaced since 9 August as a result of fighting between the Reizegat and Ma’aliya tribes, according to HAC.

  • According to FEWS NET, the number of food-insecure people in Sudan might increase from 4 million to 4.3 million people during the peak lean season – August to September.

  • The total number of flood affected people stands at some 340,000 people, with the most affected states being Khartoum, El Gezira and Blue Nile.
