METROLOGICAL FEATURES

  • Yesterday’s trough of westerly wave over Northeast Afghanistan & adjoining areas today lies over Northern parts of the country.

  • Yesterday’s low pressure area over Southwest Uttar Pradesh persist today lies over Rajisthan.

  • Seasonal low lies over West Balochistan.

  • Moderate to strong moist current from Arabian Sea & Bay of Bengal is penetrating upper parts of the country upto 7000 feet.

WEATHER FORECAST NEXT 24 HOURS

  • Widespread thunder storm/rain with scattered heavy falls with isolated very heavy falls and one or two extremely heavy falls is expected over Upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad & Sargodha Divisions), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Peshawar, Kohat, Hazara, Malakand, Mardan & DI Khan Divisions) & Kashmir along with Multan & DG Khan Divisions. Fairly widespread thunderstorm / rain is also expected over Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Quetta, Kalat, Zhob & Nasirabad Divisions. Scattered thunder storm / rain is expected over Southeast Sindh & Gilgit Baltistan. (Note*: Light Rain – 7 mm, Moderate Rain – 5 mm – 25 mm, Heavy Rain – 25 mm – 75 mm, Very Heavy Rain – above 75 mm)
