Highlights

  • Response is scaling up in Pibor County with around 6,000 people in Dorein and Labrab reached with food aid, and response planned for 19,000 in Gumuruk.

  • A new study foresees that food insecurity in violence-affected areas, in particular in Jonglei, will remain at crisis levels until the end of the year.

  • Since June 2012, around 16,000 people have returned to the Abyei area, bringing the estimated total returns to 60,000 since May 2011.
