Madagascar:

The release of the new list of presidential candidates by the restructured Special Electoral Courts is scheduled for 20 August 2013.
Most of the funds required to start the locust eradication campaign have been received, including $5 million provided by the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF)

Namibia:

The Drought Response Plan is expected to be approved by Government this week.

Malawi:

According to the 2013 annual Malawi Vulnerability Assessment Committee Report, a total of 1,461,940 people in the country are in need of 57,346 MT of maize equivalent to meet their food requirements until March 2014. The Government and key international partners agree on the need for an early humanitarian response to avoid any deterioration of the current situation.

Mozambican President Armando Guebuza has announced that general elections will be held on 15 October 2014
