Food security, measles, cholera main concerns in Mali - latest humanitarian snapshot

Food security

The food security situation remains of concern and could have an impact on crisis affected households in the north but also on those in the country affected by the 2012 food crisis. The Food Security Cluster estimates that about 3.5 million people are affected by food insecurity, including 1.4 million in need of immediate assistance.

Health

In addition to the persisting measles cases in Gao region, cholera cases have been reported in the district of Ansongo. 21 cases of cholera with two deaths were recorded between 8 and 19 May.
Prevention and response activities are being implemented.
