ACTED launches South/Southeast Asia Regional Strategy 2013-2015

BANGKOK [ACTED News] - ACTED’s Regional Office in Bangkok, Thailand released the region’s new strategy this month which aims to provide adapted tools to build capacity and linkages for resiliency, empowerment, and economic development in the South/South-East Asia region. The strategy provides a situation analysis of countries of current and future intervention including Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Thailand, and identifies common needs among them. ACTED’s strategy addresses these needs through four program pillars: 1. Disaster and Climate Change Resilience, 2. Strengthening Civil Society and Good Governance, 3. Facilitating Pro-Poor Economic Development, and 4. Emergency Response and Recovery. These pillars reflect both the diversity of ACTED’s current programming in the region, as well as the relevance of these themes beyond individual countries. The strategy document also explains ACTED’s approach and practical actions within the pillars, illustrated by profiles of ongoing projects.
